Where is the conference venue and how do I get there?

The conference will be held at Sofitel Brisbane Central, 248 Turbot Street Brisbane.  Conveniently located in the heart of Brisbane CBD, there is a train station underneath, directly accessible from the airport, and plenty of onsite parking.

Who can attend the conference?

Seafood Directions welcomes attendees from all areas of the domestic and international seafood industry and supply chain, including: wild-catch, aquaculture, post-harvest, science and research, food service and hospitality, and innovators. 

Do I need to be vaccinated to attend? What other Covid restrictions apply?

As at mid may 2022, there are no current requirements for vaccinations in Queensland, however we do highly recommend you consider your vaccination status to attend the conference. This may change from time to time, so please check here https://www.qld.gov.au/health/conditions/health-alerts/coronavirus-covid-19/current-status/public-health-directions/travelling-to-queensland/entering-queensland-from-interstate if you plan to travel to QLD to attend the conferenc.

What happens if I have covid symptoms just prior to conference?

If you are experiencing flu like symptoms in the days prior to the conference, please cancel your attendance.  

Can I substitute or cancel my registration?

If you are unable to attend and want to transfer your registration to another person please contact Kylie Hatcher at Cornerstone Events kylie@cornerstoneevents.com.au Each transfer is subject to an administrative fee of $100. If you do need to cancel your registration where possible a refund will be offered. However the following cancellation policy applies. 

  • Registrations cancelled up until and including June 24, 2022: Full refund of registration fee less AU$100 (one hundred Australian Dollars) administration fee;
  • Registrations cancelled between June 25, 2022 through to and including August 15, 2022: 50% refund of registration fee less AU$100 (one hundred Australian Dollars) administration fee; and
  • Registrations cancelled August 16, 2022 onwards: No refund.
What is the dress code for conference?

Dress code throughout the conference is smart casual.  For the National Seafood Awards dinner, its your chance to dress up – for gents a jacket, and for ladies cocktail attire is appropriate.

Can I buy extra tickets for social events including the awards night?

Additional tickets for the welcome event held Tuesday 13 September from 4:30 pm and the National Seafood Industry Awards Dinner held the evening of Thursday 15 September from 7:00 pm are available to purchase when you register for Seafood Directions 2022. Additional tickets for the welcome event are $99 per person including gst and National Seafood Industry Awards Dinner are $220 per person including gst. Additional tickets are limited and will sell out.

Can I book accommodation during conference dates?

Yes, special conference accommodation rates have been arranged at Sofitel Brisbane and Adina Apartment Hotel Brisbane. You will be able to book accommodation when you register for teh conference, however please note accommodation is not included in the Seafood Directions ticket price. 

Are there opportunities to sponsor Seafood Directions?

How do I participate in the conference as a virtual attendee?

Seafood Directions 2022 is being presented as a hybrid meeting, with both in-person and virtual registrations available for purchase.  Please review registration options here – https://www.seafooddirections.com.au/tickets/

Virtual attendees will be able to pose questions to presenters and interact with other virtual attendees via chat functionality if they wish to.  

For best viewing these browsers are recommended: Google Chrome, Microsoft Chromium or Firefox. Safari is not recommended. Please do not use “incognito” or ” hidden search” browsers settings

Ensure you are not logged on through any company VPN network as the firewalls may prevent the sound and camera working for you.
